Gridiron Gang

Was going through a pretty monotonous day at school until the Combined Humanities period. The teacher took out a class list last lesson and ticked a few people's names. So for those who were ticked, and those who were not were sent out immediately.

I was one of those apparently. So we sat outside the benches doing our own work and talking cock. It could have been worse for us despite that Principal, VP and Major Lee were making their rounds.

It was extremely amusing when we saw Viknesh getting beaten the shit out of him by Mr Lak. Mr Lak was asking us why we were outside when Viknesh wanted to talk to Brendan, and tried to get his attention by making the "kissing sound". Unfortunately for Viky, there was also a lady visitor walking past, and turned her gaze to Viky and stared at him, which warranted Mr Lak to smack his back and cursing things like :"You bloody swine! She could be a student's mother you know!"

As I said, it could have been worse, because our neighbouring class, half of them got caned due to excessive talking and we did not...So thank God........

After school there was a Student Prayer Leader meeting for those who were supposed to lead prayers on Thursdays and Fridays, one student per week....And I was getting the bullshit from people who claimed to be to shy when actually some of them are just darn lazy and could not be bothered to read.....

Went with Terence and Roderick to Sharon's house to visit her as she was down with a flu and fever. Roderick showing concern over her, while me and Terence were experimenting with Sharon;s piano. I played the 1st part of Marching Season...:( [still cant complete the song...]
We studied for about one hour and a half before Johnathan came back an hour later, pretty stunned at the sight of us...

Poor Sharon had to stay at home while we 3 guys made our way to watch Gridiron Gang with Olivia and Furtado.

It was a pretty good movie.

Starring: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Sean Porter

This film is based on a true story of how this man (Sean Porter) , a senior warden at a USA detention centre for juveniles tries to help the boys get a fighting chance back in life by making a football team. Helping the boys go through all their obstacles and emotional barriers.

Well, only The Rock adds in a bit of attitude in it and makes it more american like.

One part of the movie that really touched me was that, While he and his other partner were trying to find a team so the juvenile team could practise on, they found a Christian School that rejected them because they were afraid of their bad behaviour and gangsterism

The partner said :"Sir, I may not know the words exactly, but does not your religion say that :Be mecrciful as Jesus was to you." and :"Do to others in measure what you would have them do in the same measure as you" and "Do not judge others so that God won't judge you"\

Go figure...

We all went home after that...packed my books...and i am like so not looking forward to tomorrow

-serve evening mass, and then tuition straight away......

Robin Williams On Golf

Ever wanted to know how golf was invented? Robin Williams here tells you how a drunk scotsman does it...

(warning...explicit language content... parental guidiance advised)

Retention? A second chance.

It was just another saturday which I did not want to wake up to...but just for the flag day I heaved myself out of my wondorous, comfortable, and soothing bed...just to go to school, collect a stupid can, find myself a partner and go around soliciting for money just for some charity organization.

So reported to school 15min late, listen to Mr Ng's briefing which some of the words i caught were "pretend to be angels for today", "be a professional beggar" and "no going to yadda yadda yadda" I went with Mark, Charles and Terence to the East Coast Parkway, thinking that maybe not many Patricians would be there.

Well, essentially I was right, but the thought of another 3 groups of people soliciting money from the joggers, people at the rocks fishing, barbequing (so early in the morning) , rollerblading and what not....

I must say, some Singaporeans are pretty ugly......Throughout this experience, I have learnt that when doing flag day you encounter 3 types of people.

1st type you encounter are those who just smile or say something and walk past you and then the fake smile you put on falters a little

2nd type is those who actually stop, take a look at the money can and ask what organization are we doing for. We explain and they put in a coin or sometimes if they like it, a note. Simple and Clean.

3rd type is those joggers who claim while running their ass off that they have no money...

(speaking of which there was this jogger who i asked, he said like :" Im sorry man, i aint got no money man." after which he tapped my shoulder" im like "o............................k........but at least he was nice)

Of course there were many other types too like some bastards who REALLY pissed me off by actually smirking and putting on a haughty look.

Like, what the hell...we are sacrificing our time and energy raising funds for the poor and here you are smirking and calling us a bunch of losers who have no life.

To these people, you do not know what it is like having to throw your pride away, begging for money for those in need.

And throwing away your pride as a guy can be very difficult. Just yesterday, the group of us went for Curia meeting...after which Solomon decided to go out with his STC galz to IMM at Jurong much to the displease of Brother Edward, who in turn gave me, Royston and Charles a lift to go to our Confirmation Class, and that was when I received my blow of the day"

After the Con 2 class, my cathechist told me that since I missed so many classes I have to repeat again...

At that time, I felt my world crashing down on me. I was already one year behind my rightful class and now I have to go one step down further? and besides, the reason why I missed so many classes was because of the Mindchamps course i was going through which lasted for 3 months.

I remained pretty upset about it, and now I know how Roderick felt...I pulled a long face until the time where the group of us (me, oli, sharon, terence, roderick) went to Parkway and we stoned in the food court for awhile.

I thought about, the people whom I did flag day for, the 'O' level results which Oli, Sharon and all my other friends are awaiting in great anxiety for. I realize how self-centered I am. I am blinded by my own problems that I fail to see the greater problems of others. All of a sudden I realize how simple it is to solve my problem :

'Don't screw this chance up again. Throw away your pride, stick with your younger brothers and go through Confirmation class again."

So we decided to go to arcade and distress a little...got owned totally by the Time Crisis 4 machine"

Terence, Roderick and Sharon were rocking away by playing the new DDR machine...pretty tiring for the 3 of them. Roderick and Terence found out a way to cheat the machine by using just 1 credit so 2 people can play.

Terence played with Roderick the beginner's mode before Olivia and I came and took over a very leg-pained and tired Roderick and Terence

Olivia was attracting a small crowd when she played the basic and difficult mode of some songs, one of which was "Paranoia" i felt kinda ashamed since i playing only the basic and beginner's part :P

We went home...thinking of our problems and I could not on the com coz it cocked up =.=...thus i missed my chance to tok to hem

Woke up again at Sunday morning to go for my NEW cathechism class.....and threw away my pride I did.....Stepping into the AVA room where our class was held, I saw some familiar faces.

Furtado(punani), Ralph, Eunice, Angela, Sabrina and Daryl were the YFs (Youth Facilitators for that class which they will follow up for 3 and 1/2 years)

Mila,Christina and Jeremy were my cathechists.....

Then there were people like Aaron Tan, Johnathan Chan (Sharon's bro) and Ryan Koh all seated in one group.

I did not feel so lonely after all...We had games (the newspaper game which we won and got ourselves a Marks and Spencer Chocalate but we gave it back to the facils coz neither of us sort of wanted to try kiwi flavoured...................kinda regret it now......:P) , Praise and Worship and we went through the ground rules for the class.

1st class is not bad...but future won't be so slack as now....

Cat class aside..I served 11,15 mass and Joshua paid me $150 for the PSP. $ :D $ After which I went for breakfast...

Attended altar servers meeting....which we all listened to Greg talking about things like committment (now im like dedicating 3 days to serving mass) , upcoming events Chrism mass, Holy week... and apparently still NOBODY wants to come to sunday 6pm. T_T

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Went to Lan for awhile, ate my lunch and then served mass with Daniel Pakiam... I was damn absent minded today as I was supposed to bear crucifix today.

When it was the time for me to go into the sacristy for me to get ready, I asked Daniel to do it as sub-consiously i thought he was the one who was supposed to do it...It was not until final blessing i went in out of frustration and I realized that I'M the one supposd to do it........

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

After getting $5 from my sis, i had my dinner... and i went home......

my life feels kinda hectic now......so many committments...servers...tuition...school....legion....friends..........how the hell do i manage man......................

Hope that the grace of God will pull me through...

Have a great school week ahead!

argh..................school

It may not be easy

It was really terrible at school today...

After Combined Humans period, I wanted to get a few minutes of sleep by resting my head on the table before Mother Tounge class started. I was suddenly awoken by a commotion, and I stood up and saw Viknesh lying on the ground in agony, and then I tried to help him up. I thought that he had a very serious fall

****** said he would bring him to the sick bay. Kashfun and I immediately went out of the class and we saw Mr Lak, our principal. We reported the incident to him.

Then we were sort of stared pretty maliciously by some people. It was only until when Brendan told me that Viknesh did not fall, but got beaten up, and as a result I indirectly sabotaged the 3 other classmates.

Apparently Viknesh was trying to tell ****** mother's name to the whole class... ****** then started to beat him up followed by ****** and ******* who joined him and started beating him together...

I knew nothing of these when i reported this to Mr Lak...and very badly, I regret that decision as I would have prefered to have known the truth before reporting it...

I am not sure if I did the right thing by reporting it. Was I seriously overreacting? Should I have left the issue for themselves to settle it? I kept pondering over it during chinese class. When school got dismissed I kinda saw ******* with a yellow form, which made me think all the more that not reporting it was a better option.

But today when i flipped through my social studies text book before the incident, I caught the words on the page where "what a good leader should be", I saw the words:"Doing what is right instead of what is popular and pleasing to the crowd"

Moral Courage, it is not easy to display a sense of it. Going against the crowd will only lend you in deep shame.

What is courage?? Being brave? Not scared of doing a particular feat like bungee jumping?

i don't think so...................................

Courage is that you are scared of doing something, but you still do it anyway, conquering your own fear of the consequences.

I was feeling pretty down throughout the school time.......thinking of how i may be rejected in class.

But I put all that away, consoling myself that this is my line of duty, and I am expected to deal with this kind of shit.

Anyways, went to the airport to see my friends again. When I arrived at Burger King i realized that there was no one there at all. I used the payphone to phone up Roderick, and he, Terence zhaoed school (=.=) to go out with Olivia and Sharon to Parkway Parade and have fun. They joined me about half and hour later..

Played cards as usual while poor Oli had to work her shift...talked a lot of bullshit while Roderick was showing alot of PDA, which kind of made me and Terence feel weird...We did not stay long as Roderick had to go for his Japanese Language class and i had to go home too.

I slept pretty early...like at about 8 pm...grateful to God that no matter how much my class may hate or reject me, I still have this group of my friends to be with, and that is all that matters to me, :D

St Patrick's School Military Band Passing Out Parade Sec 2s 2007 batch

Woke up from my afternoon nap...Had my horrible lunch cooked by my dad (chef-pose) and I left for school to watch the POP

I entered through the backgate, stoned for like 1 hour coz i had to pass Terence something earlier....before i went up to the hall and watch the parade

Too bad God decided to rain on the Band's parade today...literally...and for one thing I was actually praying for the weather to be clear...just for the band

Anyway..the event was kicked off by the procession of the sec 2s led by their band major.

While waiting for the Guest of Honour, Miss Fang, principal of St Stephen's School, The senior band played "Breaking Free" by High School Musical...

The GOH arrived everyone was seated down....

Then, there was the ceremonial letters of commendation where promotion of band members were announced...things like best section etc etc were also annoucned...the whole thing took like 1 hour at least...

After which we came to the actual concert... The SSS brass band put up quite a performance seeing that there were only at a full strength of 20+ They played oldies like "Twist and Shout" "Smoke on water"

They even combined with the SPS junior band to play some other song...

But the one I was looking forward to was the Advanced Band which were composed of Upper Secondary Patricians...

Under the Baton of Mr David Glosz, Band Master of SPSMB, they played my dad's favourite piece, :" Puggininny's Rhapsody" (dunnno how to spell) which was composed by Rachmuninov

The parade ended off and we did not bother to get some refreshments.

The 4 of us: Oli, Sharon, I and Roderick decided to go to Tampinese Mall..which we ate some stuff and literally went home after that...we did not do much......the bus rides and Mrt rides were cool though...laughing here and there...attracting stares from other commuters...

From Kembangan Station I walked all the way home

Anyway...Im gonna finally make my new Ez-link card with Oli at Pasir Ris...after that go watch movie again...too bad Terence cant join us tomorrow...sigh

God Bless!
