Sze Ping's 17th Birthday/

I am just simply amazed at how strong our class spirit is. 4 weeks into school, and we already had an outing at Seoul Garden, a night cycling and now a birthday celebration for Sze Ping who turned 17 on the 22nd.

Most of us skipped lecture for RHT, and we met at the Sports Complex at around 12pm, waited for half an hour before the b'dae girl arrived. Song was sang, cake was cut (very visually pleasing cake btw) and all of us just sat around talking and eating. Me as the undeclared class cameraman of course, had to do his work 1st..:P

A very happy birthday to Sze Ping once again!

No news is good news

Bad news has been coming in, in a matter of seconds when I logged in.

For one, Adam Lambert lost the American Idol contest(probably some kelong involved due to rumours of Lambert being gay)

2nd, just saw the news that a Warrant Officer died while on a parachuting exercise. Apparently, his parachute failed to work and he spiralled down, was unconscious, immediately evacuated, and pronounced dead a few hours later.

and last and worst, a report found that Irish Catholic-run boys' home showed evidence of boys being physically and sexually abused. As a Catholic myself, I feel sorry for the boys who were abused by the adults, who are religious leaders no less, who are seriously misguided sheep of God....zzz...Another page of shame to our history.


zz...quite sad to hear about all these effing news in a day.


Nevertheless, today was quite ok for me. My comm skills assignment went well, but the same cannot be said for my friends who made mistakes here and there, and are totally freaking out.

Pam, Kaili, Sze Ping, Jia Le, Kenze, Franz and myself, went to Changi Airport to study

at least 1 out of the 5 hours..XD Remaining 4 was spent talking cock and joking at T3, TCC...Their double espresso was quite ok...but not enough body for me.

oh well..tomorrow's gonna be a blast.

P.S: In my previous post about Angels and Demons, concerning the terms of preferetti, Election by Adoration, I double checked with Father Iggy in church today...turns out they are all true...oops..But the preferetti are not officially known, but secretly. Other terms mentioned in Dan Brown's Angels and Demons book like "Devil's Advocate" are also true.

Angels and Demons was just simply awesome.

White or black smoke?

Angels and Demons was indeed awesome! Even though nearly 30% of the book was missing in the movie, I still think that the film crew did an amazing job condensing a relatively thick book in to 2 and half hours, so that the audience managed to get the gist of it.

But of course, I strongly recommend people who found this movie good to go read the book, as there were many interesting details that were left out, and some parts were changed, for example:

In the movie, the last Cardinal (Cardinal Baggia) managed to survive..but in the book, he was supposed to die also.




This movie also has a very close place in my heart since I am a Roman Catholic, and it is interesting to see many of our rituals being shown in the movie, the symbolism and meaning behind many events such as the death of a Pope, Conclave, Cardinals and Priests running all over the place...it felt just all so familar to me.

But however I did find that certain parts of the movie were not accurate. Such as the term "Preferetti" This was just meant for plot purposes, and it is non-existent in Conclave. (Checked with a priest years back when I read the book). Other doubts such as "Election by Adoration" remains to be clarified..

Overall, I think it is a damn bloody good movie to catch, and I seriously boo the stupid critic who gave 2.5/5 for this show...



then again, to each his own taste. Trust only your own. ;)


And, of course, not forgetting the fact that Man United fans all over the world are celebrating their win of the EPL, totalling their title collection to 18 wins, which is currently on par with Liverpool's.

Though I hate to admit it, I must say Sir Alex Ferguson is a good manager for being able to bring out the potential in his team, to go all out to grab that league, and in his own words as seen in Today Weekend newspaper, :"Knock Liverpool off their fucking perch"

On the other hand, I must also give credit to the Kop for making such a comeback and finishing 2nd. We lost only 2 games, but drew too many...which cost us the title..

However, we have come closer to Man U than ever before for the last 2 decades, and I am sure we can produce miracles hopefully at the next season, under the leadership of Rafa Benitez, we may make it 19 league titles...YNWA.
