SPS SC 2007
After my prefect's meeting yesterday, I decided to help Ricardo and abandon my initial plan of skipping St Patrick's School Sports Carnival 2007.
Had difficulty getting a cab this morning, which all the more lead to my frustration and a hint of hesitation to go back to Plan A. But I did manage to find my way there after all.
I was in the publicity department, which meant we had to do things like, running from the track and then hand it over to the admin people who will tabulate the results...though I did not know what the hell did this had to do with publicity of any sort, the extremely enthusiastic sec 2s were more than eager to take on this job, which meant physically less demanding duties for me... XD
Or so...i thought....
But hell it was fun...I was appointed to be 1 of 2 commentators... And good to say, Mr Salleh and Mr Lak felt that I was doing a good job, observing all the competitors, announcing...
It was really fun, getting the shade at the upper levels of the grandstand, and then feeling a load of energy...but alas
My throat just could not stand the emotions and roar of the stadium high, and shouting into the mike to make my point only made it worst
And Gabriel, thank you so much for finding all those cold drinks to sustain my throat throughout my 2 hour commentary.
So Gabriel take over for the rest of the Carnival, occasionally helping the other prefects to get those annoying little buggers from running around and trying to take shelter in one of those benches around the track which they were not allowed to in the 1st place
All ended well, after that,
Zion......................
Ironically, we did not get to play the initial match, for the 1st group that arrived there (Charles, Bryan, Shawn, Joel, and Me yes 5 in a cab.....Shawn was fairly small) we played with another group of Patricians who were there 1st.
As usual, the highlight of the afternoon was Joel, whose Nerubian Weaver nobody could match, getting his usual triple kills. In the initial stages, he did not farm properly, but late game, he got his act together and became top player. Rock On.
I was Enchantress, Charles was Anti-Mage, Bryan as Broodmother (ks-ed Joel one time for a double kill) Shawn Huang was Priestess of the Moon (FUCKING CAN'T SHOOT YOUR ARROW PROPERLY LA CB! MOTHER NEVER TEACH YOU HOW TO AIM IS IT? OF LIKE, 15 ARROWS YOU HIT THE ENEMY ONLY ONCE!...haha... okok...not angry..he was not up to form..just all was feeling damn dumb at his mistake which, if not commited, could have led us to pawn their asses instead of a normal win)
Shit happens....
As for me, though I drew 1st blood, I got backstabbed and ganged frequently, and my health is admittedly, not my forte.
And most of the time, I was just slowing enemies, throwing spears that hit harder the further the enemy was away from me, and organizing "healing rallies".
I went to Parkway Timezone, to try my luck at the lighthouse game to win a handphone, but alas, to no avail, I went there pretty confidently, but ended up wasting $20.
Shit happens...
Now about yesterday, at my sis's recommendation, we all went to Defu Lane to get some seafood.
The food was ok, to me...
But the waitress made a mistake
We ordered 2 crabs, we wanted one chilli, and one butter crab. But on the table there were 2 chilli crabs, asking for an exchange, the waitress told us they ran out of crabs..
I was .... ok..nvm.....My sis however was not happy (so she says) .
Shit happens...
Luckily, there were some "backup" crabs, so the waitress said, we got our crabs, despite our appetite getting ruined in the beginning. The butter was heavenly though..mmmm.....'
The waitress apologized by giving us a free fruit platter
And heck, we had 3 crabs, not bad
Thanks Jie..
We left the place, while the waitress saw us off as a sign of her sincerity, and as so Greg aptly puts it, hopefully, this incident will spur her on to do better next time in the service of customers.
So, 3 mistakes in 2 days.
When you make a mistake,
1) Admit it
2) Make good the mistake and learn from it
3) Don't repeat it again.
3 hours later, on this very night, a child was born onto this earth by the grace of God.
(so much for Holy Hour...haha!)
God Bless!
