A Tribute
This post is dedicated to the memory of Supercuts stylist Dor, who passed away yesterday at 11.30pm.
Many people who have gone to Supercuts at Parkway and Wisma Atria would have known him, or even have been his customer.
Dor was a stylist for more than 20 years of his life, attaning more than 300 regular customers in his career as a stylist.
Although I did not know him very well (only got my hair cut by him once before), I heard from people 1st hand about the great deeds he has done in his lifetime.
My stylist (from whom I heard the news) was also a protegee of his. Dor taught her many things in her training to become a stylist. Also touching the lives of his many colleagues.
Dor was already ill for more than a few months due to an illness which I do not know of, but apparently smoking was one of the main factors. During the period of his illness, he had even difficulty walking normally, and throughout the later months had some severe diarroeah.
A month ago he was making recovery and thus discharged from the hospital. Today was supposed to be the day of operation. The night before he was still talking to one of his colleagues, in a joking manner, talking about how happy he was to return to his job after a few months. But he passed away in his sleep on that fateful night, just before the operation was to take place.
The funeral was this morning.
Many of his customers who were waiting for him to return now retreat in disappointment and regret.
His death poses a great loss for not only Supercuts, but also in the world of hairstylists.
A person who gave such great contribution will live in the hearts of those who knew him. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.
